I like this photo. I found it in Google images under “men from Tunisia’. I guess I wanted to see what Tunisian men look like, in general. Or maybe I was missing one, and wanted to see masses as compensation.
The boat in the background seems colossal, which makes the woman in sunglasses look fragile. The sign of ‘Hope’ matches her rather sad smile, but it doesn’t fail to leave me with a sense of optimism.
Yes, I have hope. Hope that love can feel so sweet and overwhelming and new and free and deep and endless, and giving. Just like it felt that Saturday night.
